i got this email a little while ago, and i tried to respond directly but for whatever reason it kept getting bounced back to me, so i am just going to post it here.

yeah hey i can imagine you getting a lot of emails and whatnot from guys with all of your pictures (which i don\'t find appealing at all, but maybe that\'s just me) but i would just like to say that you are exactly the type of person i had desired to be for a long time. relatively intelligent with sex appeal. i admire you some, i admire how you seem to not give a damn what anyone thinks and that you are able to live your own happy life the way you want to. i was just curious, however, as to why you would subject yourself to the life of a stripper and sleep around? the question is not meant to be intrusive at all and if you do not wish to answer, that\'s fine. thanks. oh btw, how old are you? i\'m 15 (if you wanted to know).

Cheryl

hi cheryl,
thanks for writing to me, sorry it took me a while to get back to you but i have been swamped under emails and i really wanted to give yours the attention it deserves. you can ask me any question you want, the ones i would find intrusive no one ever thinks to ask me anyway.
you wanted to know why i subjected myself to the life of a stripper and to sleeping around...

it was fun.*

my mom always said if you want you can go through life always making the safe choices, but it sure isnt going to be very interesting. i guess i just really took that to heart. you are right, i live how i please and i dont care what anyone thinks, i cant think of a compelling argument to do things any other way can you?

hope that answers things for you,
best,
bunnie

*if that doesnt satisfy you i will address it at greater length. i never really consdiered stripping something i was subjecting myself to, it was something i wanted to do even though it wasnt always pleasant, easy or fun. sometimes it was downright awful, but i think sometimes i like awful. when i was in my late teens/early 20's (i am 29 now) i was hungry for a diversity of experience, i wanted to skirt the edge of darkness and come back to tell the tale. most of the time while i was stripping i felt like a scientist, i wanted to observe people and that was a great place to do it, i learned more about human beings, men in particular, there than i did in all of my time in school. i guess some people might be uncomfortable with the idea of running around naked, or being viewed and handled as a sex object, and i admit sometimes i didnt like it either but mostly it didnt bother me. i guess i just dont think about things that way, to me, my body is just the space i happen to inhabit. i detach easily so it is simple for me to view it as nothing more than a tool or a prop i can use to suit my own ends, as i continue to do with my photos. if anything i always thought the joke was more on my customers than it was on me...they were the ones handing over all their hard earned money and for what? a peek at my boobs? hahahaha, morons. they would have been better off getting a hooker, at least then they would have gotten something in return. oh you probably think i am awful now...

sleeping around was a lot less complicated, i did it because i wanted to. you only get one ride on this planet and i wanted to do/try/feel/learn everything i could, i do not want to get to the end and find myself saying "i really wish i had...." fill in the blank. i dont sleep around anymore, not because i have a moral issue with it, but because after all that sex what i have learned is that it means very little to me. despite what the media is constantly pushing us to believe most sex isnt that exciting or even very good and so i have no compelling reason to seek it out. looking back over my partners i would say maybe 10 were ever worth sleeping with at all, but hey maybe i am just a critic.

Man says to God - "God, why did you make woman so beautiful?"

God says: "So you would love her."

But God," the man says, "Why did you make her so dumb?"

God says: "So she would love you."

i am soooo stupid.

this is not really news but you know, here is the latest reason why...i went and plugged my friends blog a couple of days ago only to realize i had spelled it wrong. so here is the corrected version, go visit him, he has a lot to say, most of which i totally agree with (especially his most recent post on march 17, productive potheads unite!). go visit him:

http://misplacedaggression.blogspot.com/

this time i just cut and pasted so there is no way i could fuck up the url.

went to photo class 2 last night. this one wasnt too terrible, he explained a few things i was always curious about, like f stops and shutter speeds and all that. then we all showed our work and got critiqued...he really got excited about mine and passed on information to a school that would be better suited to me, with classes that focus solely on digital shooting. yay!

i told a lie yesterday.
barb and i were having one of our little chats and i told her that i hated people and that i wish we would all die out as a specis. she looked so hurt when i said that.
i imagine in my mind sometimes that i have my finger on a button that could vaporize every human on the planet, do i hesitate? not in my mind i dont.
so wheres the lie?
the lie is that i dont really hate us all at all, its just sometimes easier to feel that way than admit how dissapointed i get. i get frustrated when i see how small we can be, how cruel, selfish, wasteful, decietful, petty...well obviously i could just go on and on, so i wont. secretly, under all this cynacism i am a closet idealist, i want to belive the best about us, that we have the capacity to be better...or at least kinder and slightly less fearful..but then i turn on my tv or take a look around and...well imagine it like this, like you poured your whole heart, soul and trust into someone you love only to find out they have been fucking your best friend behind your back the whole time. a most painful betrayal.
so barb, i am really sorry i lied, its just sometimes i cant face the truth.
