ok crisis (as it were) is over. i am most pleased to report that mister L and i have passed our immigration interview and he is a permanent resident!!! woo!!

this issue has been so long on our mind now that it is over i am not sure what to feel or do with myself. we were terrified going in, we have been up for days sorting documents, printing photos, tracking down evidence...and in the end all they wanted to see were a fraction of the items we brought and ask a few questions. initially our lawyer instructed us not to say anything more than necessary but our interviewer got carried away and got quite chatty, her range of tangents was alarming. a (very) few of the topics touched on were mickey rooney, conversational dogs, and some of her dental history. i was willing to chat about any old thing she liked as long as it made her happy, and of course stamped us approved. when all was said and done our lawyer said it was the longest interview he ever sat through and very unusual. that doesnt surprise me, unusual seems to be our calling card.

seems to me ins could cut down on paperwork by just throwing couples in an observation room with a tv and a remote control and then assess the level of domestic contempt.

an astute reader asked why if i was feeling so domme the other night was it me who was on the floor with the paper towels. its because no matter how domme i may be feeling, nor how clumsy and clueless my guest might be, it would be unforgivably rude to force them to clean something up. i am a good hostess before i am a good domme and besides at that point i was too busy laughing to bossy. i was down on the floor half heartedly mopping while cying my eyes out with laughter, i got myself worked up into such a state i got a little nauseous. even thinking about it now i still get kinda tickled, he was such a good toy i am sort of hoping he'll come back sometime.

ok so i know my vacation from email is supposed to be over today, but i am going to have to ask for an extension. we got some pretty big personal business coming up on wednesday and i just cant think about another single thing until that's over. i dont want to talk about it till its over, and its not life threatening or anything, but positive thoughts and a few prayers would be appreciated. couldnt hurt anyway right?

recently lauren has been spending her weekends home in connecticut. coming home usually means spending a lot of time at my house hanging out, which is cool because i love when she visits. the only problem is that lauren also comes with an entourage of between 1 and 5 additional friends, and sometimes her entourage has an entourage...i actually like most of her friends and am sort amused by the constant parade of people passing through and stopping by, its like a surprise party every weekend. but this weekend, through a series of friend of a friend invites i ended up with a lumbering idiot in my house. a big moonfaced moron who unwittingly provided most of my entertainment friday evening.

we were all hanging out in my room when he comes in, toting a litre of coke and a paper bag which obviously contained an alchohol of some kind. he places them on my dresser and flops on the edge of the bed, which is ok because its pretty much the only thing to sit on in my room. then he starts talking...what's that old chestnut about better to keep your mouth shut and appear the fool than open it and confirm appearances? this guy should have that embroidered on his underwear...he cloddishly embarassed and alienated most everyone in the room within minutes of his arrival. boys that stupid bring out a real dangerous side of my personality, the side that wears vinyl and carries a whip...i found myself slipping into my old dominatrix role, and what's worse, he was responding. i started to feel like my cat does when she is about to pounce on some little rodent and bite off its head, but not until shes played with it to the point that it wishes it was dead. i had to leave the room before i got carried away.

after leaving his paper bag and bottle of cola on the dresser for an hour and a half the clod decides to make himself a drink. i get him a glass and some ice and he mixes one up, only to realize that they are leaving in five minutes...obviously he cant take it with him in the car, and it is only a small drink, so i tell him to just leave it behind, but he start whining and says, "but thats my alcohol yo. i PAID for that..." and fusses until we give him a plastic bottle. he takes it into the bathroom and painstakingly pours the contents of the glass into the narrow mouth of the bottle. i have to give him credit, the man has a steady hand, not a drop was spilled...so with his baba all ready to go they get their coats on and file out of my room with me bringing up the rear. all of a sudden i hear a rustle and a crash, and the clod goes, "oh dude, noooooo!". he had completely dropped whatever liquor was in that paper bag, the bottle shattered and the contents sprayed all over my floor. i laughed so hard i fell on the floor. tears where coming out of my eyes as i was on my hands and knees with the papertowels while the clod shuffled out of my house still lamenting his loss. i am sure there is some kind of cliched truism about focusing so hard on the little things that you ulitmately lose the big one, but i am still laughing too hard to think of it.
