for a while i thought that i was inviting too much in by keeping myself open, i thought if i made my world smaller i would reduce my chances of encountering anything really bad, but that just isn't true. if you care about even one person you open yourself up to tragedy.

something has happened to someone i care about, i am not going to tell you what it is because it isn't mine to tell. all anyone needs to know is it was sufficiently awful to knock me back, jolt me out of my little cocoon and remind me just how horrible the world really can be. i am sick with disgust.

when i go out i have to shade my eyes because i am afraid that if people look into them that they will see the endless emptiness that i feel right now. i know that beyond the emptiness there is a rage unlike anything i have ever faced before. i can feel the agitated tremors of it in my bones, my cells glow with it. i want to take the human race and wring it of evil and obliviousness. i am paralyzed by my impotence, unable to do anything but use each private moment i steal to cry. it doesn't change anything or even really help, but there is nothing else i can do, no place else for all this emotion to spill over to, so it wells up from my chest and out of my eyes.

it will run out eventually, as it always does, but right now i wonder if i even care. is there anything to even come back for? why keep investing yourself in something that can be so gravely disappointing? all of my life i have questioned the value of our existence, but always with a reserve of idealism...i wonder now if that is gone.

i will be unavailable for the next few days.

i stopped by a tag sale while driving around this weekend, 2 items jumped out at me immediately and i grabbed them. i took my selection to the guy having the sale, he eyed my choices and said, "i think i want to go to a bar with you sometime..."
can anyone guess what i had that would inspire that comment?

an antique riding crop and a giant bunny suit.
